An Environment Where Hands-On Learning Takes Center Stage

The Pitsco Learning Environment

Students are active and fully engaged in the Pitsco K-2 classroom. Our age-appropriate STEM Units provide opportunities for hands-on learning to take center stage. Throughout the units, students utilize the design thinking process to creatively develop solutions to a variety of challenges, encouraging them to use their imaginations to problem solve and innovate solutions.

Every unit comes with setup instructions, a scope and sequence, and durable storage containers, making implementation easy and adaptable and freeing teacher time to build the supportive and enriching environment that early learners need to be successful.

Pitsco Education - K-2 - Classroom Implementation

Classroom Implementation

All K-2 units are STEM learning focused but also have opportunities for creative expression, social interaction, and physical movement woven throughout.

To boost collaboration skills, students work in pairs and teams of four to explore real-world concepts through vocabulary exercises; games; and open-ended, hands-on challenges, such as making a home for a pet (in Exploring Structures for Animals) or designing and building a ride (in Exploring Transportation). Throughout the challenges students integrate the use of items such as balsa wood, card-stock paper, modeling clay, and other fun, hands-on materials as they use the design thinking process to think critically about the problem at hand.

STEM Units are intended to deliver an all-inclusive experience, enabling easy implementation. Students will need access to common classroom items such as rulers, scissors, paper, or cardboard. However, all other resources are provided through the purchase of a unit.

Every K-2 STEM Unit contains:

A bill of materials is also included in each unit so you can easily reorder the consumable items used in the creative design challenges.

“How you guys do what you do is simply magical. You turned an empty shell of a portable into the most dynamic learning space a school can offer a child . . . and you did it with a smile the whole time.”

We enable young learners to develop the mind-set, skill set, and tool set needed for future success.
