The Fable robot was designed from the ground up to meet the needs of educators – providing them with a fun and easy way to teach 21st-century skills and STEM subjects and to bring coding to life.
Fable is a modular construction set that students use to create their own robot in just a few minutes. Students can quickly click the different modules together in infinite ways to build their robot’s body and then program it for sensing and movement.
Depending on their experience level, students can program Fable using Blockly, a visual programming language, or Python®, a text-based language. The included USB dongle enables wireless programming from a PC, Mac, iOS, and Chromebook.
Also available is the Fable Face app, which is found on both the Mac App Store and Google Play. Fable Face enables students to build robots that are interactive, social individuals and experiment with algorithms to control Fable’s expressions using the phone’s accelerometer.
The Fable Hello Set is intended to be shared by two to six students, following a ratio of one to three students per set, making it ideal for rotational or center-based class implementations.
