Venturer Program Grades 3-5 Aerospace

Fly. Float. Discover.
Flight Science
Each student receives a Flight STEM Boost Kit to investigate lift, drag, thrust, and gravity by building and testing different aircraft designs.
Straw Rocket Engineering
Students design, build, and launch straw rockets, testing how fin shape, nose cone design, and launch angle affect distance and accuracy.
Parachute Design
Each student engineers parachutes using varied materials, testing how canopy size, shape, and weight affect descent speed and drift.
Iterative Design Process
Each activity follows a build-test-improve cycle that teaches students to analyze results and refine their designs based on evidence.
What Students Will Do
- Build and test paper aircraft to investigate aerodynamics
- Design and launch straw rockets with varied configurations
- Engineer parachutes and measure descent rates
- Analyze how design changes affect flight performance
- Record data and draw conclusions from experiments
- Collaborate on design challenges and compete in launch events
