Frequently Asked Questions

What coding language does the PRIZM Pro controller use?

PRIZM Pro is Arduino-compatible and supports C/C++ programming through The Pitsco Learning Portal. Students write real code—not drag-and-drop blocks—that controls motors, processes sensor data, and executes autonomous behaviors.

Can I add remote control later?

Yes. Purchase a wireless gamepad and Tele-Op Control Module separately to add R/C driving capability to your existing Programmable set, effectively creating a Dual-Control configuration.

Do students need prior programming experience?

No. The included programming guide introduces coding concepts from the ground up, and Virtual Robotics simulation lets students experiment safely before deploying code to physical hardware.

What sensors are included?

The set includes a Grove Line Finder Sensor and a Grove Ultrasonic Sensor. Additional Grove-compatible sensors can be added to expand what the robot can detect and respond to.

How many students can work with one set?

Two to four students work optimally with one set. For full-class deployment, the Programmable Getting Started Package (43417) includes six complete sets for up to twenty-four students.

What does access to the TETRIX Virtual Robotics licenses entail?

Access to TETRIX Virtual Robotics simulation software allows students to design, code, and test robots virtually before building and programming physical hardware.
