Pitsco’s bridge-testing device provides a simple, safe, and accurate method of testing student-engineered bridges. The tabletop design provides a testing environment without needing two tables!
A clever pulley mechanism gives this tester a 1:4 weight-to-force ratio. The tester uses a hanging container that students fill with sand to apply force to the bridge structure. With this tester, 10 pounds of sand in the container equals 40 pounds of force applied to the structure. By gaining mechanical advantage, the tester requires one-fourth the amount of sand – resulting in safer, easier, and more convenient testing.
Solid construction makes this tester a rugged, reliable performer. Sand not included.
