The Courses
The Game Development Foundations course leverages the excitement of creating games to teach students computer science, mathematics, and problem-solving. Learners use custom JavaScript engines and the Pixilart editor to build games while learning computational thinking, 2-D graphic design, and game development principles.
The Web Development Foundations course teaches students the basics of web design and web development. At the end of this course, students will be able to build responsive websites and web-based tools designed with a target audience and accessibility needs in mind.
Computer Science Foundations provides high school students with a comprehensive introduction to computer science and programming. Through engaging projects and clear, step-by-step guidance, students learn to code in Python® while exploring the exciting world of computer science.
Game Development I teaches high school students C# coding and game design with the Unity 3-D engine using a project-based approach. Beginning with little to no coding experience, students build their knowledge of C# and Unity by creating multiple full-featured games combining 3-D models, animation, audio files, and scripts.
The Game Development II course teaches high school students about intermediate to advanced topics in game development, including complex physics simulations, AI navigation and behavior scripting, 3-D math and geometry, art and design principles, as well as industry-established software design and development practices.
