Explore the future of agriculture with this hands-on course designed to help educators introduce coding and agricultural technology into the classroom. Participants will learn how to use the BBC micro:bit to teach about agriculture, sustainability, sensor technology, and environmental monitoring through real-world applications of data, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). No prior coding experience is necessary. This session will cover an overview of the hardware, introduction to block-based coding using micro:bit, and a soil moisture lab and also creating an automated watering system, gathering and analyzing data, and unlocking data insights using AI tools.
