Blue-Bot® Curriculum Volume 2 was written by teachers for the Blue-Bot Programmable Robot. This curriculum, which includes 15+ hours of content, was designed to enable all educators, regardless of their coding experience or comfort level, to incorporate Blue-Bot into core subjects.
Blue-Bot Curriculum Volume 2 builds upon and reinforces the foundational concepts taught in Blue-Bot Curriculum Vol. 1. Blue-Bot Curriculum Vol. 2 includes 20 cross-curricular lessons that introduce more complex concepts including identifying tasks; understanding algorithms; defining data; deleting programs; identifying potential problems, causes, and solutions; troubleshooting problems; and creating variations of a task.
The curriculum is aligned to Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards, making it a valuable addition to any classroom. The lessons follow the 5E CT Lesson Plan Model (Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, and Evaluation) that was developed by ISTE in collaboration with the City University of New York. This instructional model focuses on computational thinking at each stage of the lesson while helping students develop future-ready skills.
Each lesson focuses on one or more CSTA K-3 standard(s) while incorporating a core content skill in English, math, or science. In addition, each lesson includes an evaluation, which assesses both the CSTA and core content skills of focus.
