The Friction Climbers STEM Boost Kit is a hands-on engineering kit for one middle-level student. Learners build and test friction climbers to explore how friction and simple mechanisms allow objects to move upward against gravity, guided by bilingual student guides (English and Spanish). Students construct a simple climbing mechanism, experiment with how surface texture and design affect climbing ability, and discover how friction works as both a helpful force and an obstacle. All supplies are included—no additional materials or technology required. Works in classrooms, makerspaces, afterschool programs, camps, and home learning environments.
