STREAM CLASSROOM PROGRAM - Environment
Classroom Implementation
STREAM Missions were designed to be implemented rotationally, meaning that each Crew of four students works together through an entire Mission title. Then, students rotate to a new title and a new role within their Crew.
Here’s what to think about when considering
implementing Missions:
- Maximum number of students in a class period
- Number of class periods or cohorts that will experience Missions
- Number of years for which you desire to purchase software licenses
- Standards to be addressed by the program
Program Outcomes
We strive to provide a comprehensive curriculum that embraces the unique abilities of every child. We integrate important elementary disciplines and modes of instruction in a way that gives students the opportunity to practice their collaboration, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills without sacrificing teacher-led instruction and independent work.
We give students in Grades 3-5 a well-rounded education and exposure to careers they might enjoy in their future. The program outcomes shown below represent independent percentages that overlap with one another.
“I think personally when students see us modeling SEL concepts, it’s setting the example/precedent. I believe some of the most valuable and memorable experiences for my students is when we are working through projects or an experiment and what I do doesn’t work the first or second (or third or fourth) time. They get to watch how I handle the slight setbacks and see how I work to improve.”
