Getting started with Blue-Bot® is a snap with this unique package that includes six Blue-Bots, a configurable maze, a Treasure Island mat, and rechargeable docking station (talk about classroom management made easy!).
The Blue-Bot programmable floor robot is the perfect place to start when teaching children the basics of control. Unique features, such as its clear shell, enable children to see the components inside and discover the inner workings of the robot and its electronics. Blue-Bots are also Bluetooth enabled and can detect one another, record audio, and play back custom sounds when each button is pressed, making it an accessible solution to all students, including those with auditory or visual processing needs. Plus, the Blue-Bot is rechargeable, so no need to worry about replacing costly batteries.
When it comes to programming Blue-Bot, you’ve got options! Little learners who are new to control can program Blue-Bot using the buttons on the robot. The TacTile Code Reader (sold separately) provides another fun, kinesthetic way for students to plan out, test, and debug their code. Blue-Bot is also capable of connecting to tablets, PCs, and Macs, enabling the solution to grow with your students as they become more confident coders.
There are two apps available for controlling your Blue-Bot wirelessly. The Blue-Bot app enables users to code their robot using remote control functionality. Blue’s Blocs is an app complementary to the Blue-Bot, which allows for expansion of knowledge and teaching at greater depth in elementary computer science. Using a familiar block-based environment, students can program their Blue-Bot using extended functionality, which includes decision-making, numerical functions, Boolean operators, and the introduction of variables.
By seamlessly connecting the physical Blue-Bot device to the app via Bluetooth connection, students can kinesthetically embed computational concepts in their learning.
