The Microduino STEM MIX Kit 1 Curriculum Pack, available in both print and free digital download, will get your students engaged and excited about coding! Designed for those students just beginning their coding experiences, these guides start with basic challenges and will quickly develop students’ skills.
MIX Kit 1 enables your students to be introduced to coding by creating working models of electronic devices as they progress through 12 different projects that are scaffolded to encourage students to develop skills in a logical sequence. Utilizing the power of Microduino’s proprietary mDesigner software based on Scratch 3.0, students work to meet challenges such as designing, programming, and building a model of a working airport runway light system. They learn the basic principles of coding and create working programs to meet laid-out requirements.
Support for the teacher also exists. The extensive teacher’s guide comes with reproducible worksheets for the student to complete, along with answer keys for all the projects. Also included is one example of a working program that meets the requirements for the students in their coding challenge. One-page inventory sheets for the MIX Kit are included in both the teacher’s guide and student guide as well as in-depth descriptions of each of the components with the associated programming blocks.
The printed version of this pack includes one teacher guide and 13 student guides to accommodate up to 24 students working in pairs with an extra student guide leftover for the teacher.
