“It is better than playing computer games,” said one student who used our Architectural Blueprint Reading software to learn about reading plan sets, construction details, and architectural styles. Students can choose from nine different self-paced lessons – plan sets, zoning ordinances, plat plans, plot plans, architectural styles, floor plans, exterior and interior elevations, and roof styles. For each lesson, the program displays a series of drawings, each with a set of multiple-choice questions. Students zoom into a drawing and pan until they find the answers to the questions. The program checks their responses, and if a question is answered incorrectly, students may keep searching for the correct answer before moving on to the next set of plans. By the time students complete more than 300 questions about 88 drawings, they are well versed in reading residential architectural blueprints.
