Racing activities with students can be a challenge, but we’ve met it head-on with a race system featuring easy-to-build cars powered by a rubber band.
The Prop Racer System includes four cars that are easily built from laser-cut wooden parts and other included hardware. Plus, we’ve added everything you need to have an official race!
While students are excited about racing, teachers can teach them how potential and kinetic energies, simple machines, and other subjects affect how well their cars run.
System includes materials needed to build four propeller cars: two guideline assemblies, two deceleration towels, roll of gray duct tape, 5:1 rubber band winder, 16' rubber band, 450 yards of monofilament line, winding stand, and four clothespins.
Looking for standards-based activities to accompany these materials? The Prop Racers Teacher’s Guide is available for print here, or you can download a digital copy for free here.
