Description

With its groundbreaking TagTile® system, KUBO introduces the concepts of coding in an easy, hands-on, screen-free way so that children can become creators, innovators, and designers of our future technologies.

With KUBO, students piece together icon-based tiles to create instructions, or code, for their robot to execute. The solution requires no additional technology and is so simple you can be up and running in fewer than five minutes and well on your way to introducing the basics of computational thinking.

This screen-free, hands on solution provides everything you need to teach coding and computational thinking to students throughout elementary school. Also available to teachers is the KUBO School Portal. Signing up for the portal is completely free, and when educators create an account they gain access to onboarding materials, video tutorials, quick-start guides, and a variety of downloadable activities, including hours of content in which students earn their license to code.

The KUBO Coding++ 4-Pack Bundle provides four student groups each with a set of 126 TagTiles to use with the KUBO robot and activity map. The tiles, which snap together like the pieces of a puzzle, enable control of basic movements, time, speed, distance, and direction. Students have endless possibilities to develop increasingly complex programs using functions, subroutines, loops, if-then statements, variables, and events.

The KUBO Coding++ 4-Pack Bundle is intended to be shared by eight to 12 students and is perfect for whole-class activities or rotational center-based learning.

“I am so proud of our students and their work with the KUBO. KUBO has enabled students to think deeper and problem-solve when their code isn’t working. I am especially proud of how KUBO robots have improved self-esteem, peer collaboration, and self-confidence in my students’ lives.”

– Anne Marie Glawe, GATAS & BrainBooster teacher, Springfield Elementary, Greenwood, South Carolina

“Teachers will be amazed how easily and quickly students learn to work KUBO. Through exploration, students grow their excitement for using KUBO.”

– Natalie Vanderbeck, K-5 teacher, George Nettels Elementary, Pittsburg, Kansas

“I have used KUBO with my students in kindergarten to third grade. I use it to introduce coding topics like sequencing, algorithms, and debugging. It is a great hands-on way for students to visualize these concepts before they start coding on the computers!”

– Tammera Laughlin, elementary media services teacher and librarian, Circleville City Schools, Ohio
