Making STEM Learning Come to Life

Whole-class, hands-on STEM Units enable middle school and high school students to make connections among the four areas of STEM learning. Each two-, three-, or four-week unit incorporates science, technology, engineering, and math concepts into the activities. Students work in teams to brainstorm and solve problems, developing transferable future-ready skills necessary in college and careers.

Designed to be flexible, the STEM Units can be incorporated in support of existing curriculum or as an entire course on their own. They fit into existing labs or classrooms and are easy for teachers to use and store.

Teachers are provided with everything they need to implement the units including curriculum resources and materials to complete the hands-on activities.

STEM Unit Titles

Providing students with a STEM experience in which all four subjects are integrated and presented in a real-world manner is the central objective of the titles. This program focuses on students’ taking concepts learned in other classes and applying them to realistic engineering challenges.

Our STEM Units can be used to supplement existing curriculum, or several units can be combined to create a semester-long or even yearlong course.

There are no prerequisites, and units can be completed in any order desired. Additionally, these units can be incorporated into a traditional classroom, a technology lab, or a science setting.

Standards Alignments

All middle-level STEM Units are correlated to Next Generation Science Standards, standards from the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association, and Common Core State Standards for mathematics and English language arts. Standards correlations are included in each teacher’s guide.

Authentic and Formal Assessments

Students’ performance and creativity are assessed through their demonstration of meaningful application of STEM knowledge and skills.

Formal assessment is provided in the form of a multiple-choice pretest and posttest within the guides for each STEM Unit.
