(Note to media: Due to the pandemic, Pitsco will celebrate its 50-year anniversary in a low-key manner with employees in the coming days and online via social media giveaways and discounts for customers throughout the entire year. Plans are taking shape for a more appropriate public celebration later in the year when we are once again able to gather as a community. In the meantime, contact Pitsco Education Communications Manager Tom Farmer to arrange for one-on-one interviews with corporate officers to discuss the company's golden anniversary and Pitsco's impact on education in general and the Four States region specifically.)
PITTSBURG, KS (February 24, 2021) – The Pitsco Education story isn't just about what the company has done for millions of students and teachers during the past half century. It's also about the anticipation for what Pitsco will do in the coming decades to lead STEM education with its ever-evolving products and services.

What was started by three teachers in a basement in Pittsburg, Kansas, on the evening of March 6, 1971, has blossomed into a leading international hands-on education company – still based in Pittsburg – that delivers every day on its mission to lead education that positively affects learners.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Pitsco's vision has always been to meet students where they are through the activities and materials needed to experience a more relevant education anywhere along the K-12 spectrum.
Working primarily out of six buildings on its main campus and its manufacturing facility on the western edge of Pittsburg, Pitsco's employees today embrace technological change and advancements while developing and reimagining hands-on products, equipment, and activities that lead to the same "aha moments" students experienced 50 years ago when they first used the company's packaged kits to make bottle openers and pen-and-paper holders. Today, Pitsco offers more than 3,000 educational products, about one-third of which are proprietary.
“It's about students and teachers. It always has been, and it always will be about the students and teachers,” said Pitsco cofounder and current CEO Dr. Harvey Dean. “We have an enduring commitment to meet the needs of students whose preferred method of learning is hands on, and we are dedicated to developing the best products that meet the needs of today's students and teachers. Our philosophy hasn't changed one bit in 50 years.”
