The Engineering Education units provide an environment where engineering concepts and skills are applied in ways that make them meaningful to students. The curriculum takes students through a series of activities, building their understanding as they identify and design solutions to problems.
Engineering Education units can be implemented as individual courses or as a one- , two-, or three-year program. Units are nine weeks except the Design Applications & Programming course and the Senior Engineering Project, which are both 18 weeks.
SENIOR ENGINEERING PROJECT
After several semesters of the Engineering Academy, some students want a real-life project like the one outlined here. During this semester, students develop their own engineering project and go through the same processes as an engineer. Each student, in consultation with the instructor, determines the scale and detail of his or her project.
