Dragsters are an exciting method to teach metrics and the design process. Students design and build a prototype and then produce an actual CO2-powered dragster and race it! An illustrated, self-directed student workbook holds the students’ attention as they learn step-by-step automotive-design processes.

The Race Car Book, a $2 value, is included, along with everything required for the dragster. Kits and packs are available in balsa wood or basswood and with or without the polystyrene blank. Note: Includes CO2 Cartridge.

Requires a drill, coping saw, wood file or rasp, ruler, scissors, finish, and a race system, sold separately.

The use of technology to produce prototypes and products is all around us. In this competition, students use CAD and CAM software and hardware to produce a CO2 dragster that will travel down a 20-meter track in the least amount of time.
Extraordinary acceleration! Dragsters are known for their power and speed, and these model dragsters are no different! Students design and engineer their own dragster from a wood blank with hopes that the vehicle will travel down a 20-meter track as quickly as possible!
