Description

Blue-Bot® Curriculum Volume 1 was written by teachers specifically for the Blue-Bot Programmable Robot. This curriculum, which includes 15+ hours of content, was designed to enable all educators, regardless of their coding experience or comfort level, to incorporate Blue-Bot into core subjects.

Use the Blue-Bot Curriculum alongside the hands-on robot to provide students with an exciting and interactive way to learn control, directional language, and programming skills. With 20 cross-curricular activities, these lessons seamlessly integrate physical computing skills and computational thinking into everyday classroom experiences, ensuring every child can enjoy the benefits of computer science education. Because the curriculum requires students to work together for a portion of each lesson, learners will gain valuable communication and collaboration skills.

The curriculum is aligned to Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards, making it a valuable addition to any classroom. The lessons follow the 5E CT Lesson Plan Model (Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, and Evaluation) that was developed by ISTE in collaboration with the City University of New York. This instructional model focuses on computational thinking at each stage of the lesson while helping students develop future-ready skills.

Each lesson focuses on one or more CSTA K-3 standard(s) while incorporating a core content skill in English, math, or science. In addition, each lesson includes an evaluation, which assesses both the CSTA and core content skills of focus.
