Vice President of Sales

SUMMARY: The Vice President of Sales is responsible and accountable for managing and developing the sales and support efforts of the company. The Vice President leads the various sales management teams and associated stakeholders on the design and implementation of strategic and tactical sales activities. The position provides the leadership to achieve the corporate goals as defined by the annual and three-year sales budget and plan. As a member of the executive committee, the Vice President brings the customer focus to product development, marketing, manufacturing, delivery, operations, and after-the-sale service. These tasks are accomplished by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Directing, developing, and leading the sales efforts across the US and global markets
  • Directing, developing, and coaching the domestic and international sales leadership personnel
  • Developing and executing the three-year sales business plan for the company
  • Leading the sales personnel, sales support, and stakeholders in the design and implementation of the sales plans
  • Providing strategic guidance and support across all aspects of the organization including sales, educational partnerships, and product development
  • Being responsible for domestic and global growth for the company
  • Aiding in the preparation and tracking of the annual sales budget for the company
  • Analyzing sales and market data and producing strategic and tactical plans for the company
  • Providing input on the marketing plans for each of the company’s sales channels
  • Being responsible for hiring indirect sales representation
  • Maintaining close contact with the primary market leaders and clients
  • Providing input to development plans for future products and curriculum offerings
  • Developing training programs for the sales organization
  • Guiding the efforts to grow sales pipelines
  • Working with sales managers to forecast growth for current and emerging product lines
  • Directing, developing, and coaching the sales enablement/support functions for the company

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years in sales management experience in the education market
  • Good interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent analytic and planning skills
  • Strong team-building and leadership skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in an office/field environment
  • Ability to travel 30-40% of the time
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately three international trips annually)
